Farxiyo Ahmed Nuur

Farxiyo Ahmed Nuur

Farxiyo Ahmed Nuur, a young child from the remote village of Sedexburod, was identified as a zero-dose case under SHACDO’s Gavi-supported immunization initiative. Due to limited access to health services, misinformation, and low awareness of routine immunization, she had not received any vaccines and was highly vulnerable to preventable diseases.

Through targeted household visits, Community Health Workers provided counseling, addressed caregiver concerns, and linked the family to routine immunization services. With structured follow-up and continued support, Farxiyo completed her full catch-up vaccination schedule and is now protected.

Her caregiver now champions immunization within the community, demonstrating how Gavi-supported outreach strengthens trust, improves equity, and ensures that no child is left behind.
